The process

Every painting I create is entirely hand-drawn and painted with care — from our first conversation to the moment it arrives at your door. Here's how it works:

1. Get in Touch - Once you reach out to book a painting, we’ll begin with a friendly email consultation to discuss all the details — who (and which pets!) you'd like included, any special touches, and what makes the illustration meaningful to you.

2. Booking & Payment - To secure your place in my schedule, full payment is required upfront. This allows me to begin your custom piece and ensures a spot during busy periods.

3. Sketching - With all your reference photos and details in hand, I then begin the sketching process. This is the most important stage, and I take my time to make sure everything looks just right. I’ll send you a photo of the final sketch so you can review it and request any changes before I start painting.

4. Painting - Once we’re both happy with the sketch, I move on to the watercolour painting itself. Finished off with ink outlines and details.

5. Final Approval & Delivery - When the painting is complete, I’ll send you a final image to make sure you’re happy. Then I carefully package your artwork and send it via Royal Mail Tracked delivery.

Please note: Each commission takes time and love — typically 4 to 6 weeks from start to finish, depending on the size of the piece and the time of year. I’ll always keep you updated along the way. Wherever possible, if a tighter time limit is required I'll always try my best to accommodate this.

What I can include

As a standard, my illustrations are typically characters sat on grass with flowers and blue sky, with or without bunting. I can add in any personal touches to fit the theme of the painting, for example a little birthday card, or a bottle of fizz if it's a celebration piece, or even little wings on passed pets.

Background sceneries can be added, these can be fairly simple and left to me to design, like rolling hills and countryside, or a beach setting. Or they can be more specific, I can paint sceneries from a picture you might have (in my light-hearted style) or maybe you'd like to add a vehicle, your family home or even a wedding venue.

Illustrations to capture a special photo you might have is also an option.

How to order and what I'll need from you

To make sure your portrait feels personal and true to you, I work from reference photos and any little details you can share. The more I can see, the more I can capture the heart of your family and pets.

Photos of Everyone in the Painting
If possible, please send full-length photos of each person. A few shots from different angles are really helpful so I can see hair, posture, and all the little features that make each person unique.

Photos of Pets
Clear photos are best, especially ones that show their faces, tails, and any special markings. A mix of angles will help me capture their personality perfectly.

Clothing Details
If you have a specific outfit in mind, send me a photo of it or write me a little description so I can get it just right.

If You’d Like Me to Paint from One Specific Photo
That’s absolutely fine — just make sure it’s a clear, high-quality image so I can include every detail.

You’re welcome to send as many photos as you like — the more reference I have, the more accurate and personal your portrait will be.

Prices

People and pets from behind sat on grass

For the first 2 characters — £40.00

Any additional characters are £10.00 each (teeny tiny pets are less)

For the first 2 characters — £55.00

Additional characters — £15.00 each

People and pets from the front or full length

Background sceneries

A simple background of my design — £15.00 (on A4) £20.00 (on A3)

Backgrounds with a house or building will start at £30.00 but may be more depending on the size and detail

Specific background sceneries from a photo will be quoted for upon request

Additional sentimental objects (toys, background vehicles, cards etc…)

£5.00 each

Singular photo illustration

These are quoted for upon request, and will be dependent on how much detail and different elements there are in the photo. A merge of photos can be achieved and are also quoted for upon request.

Please note — these prices are guidelines, during the consultation process Rebecca will assess the detail and time required to capture your ideas with care and this can have an effect on the price; rest assured a final price will be discussed and decided before any work is carried out.

Post and packaging

£4.00 — All paintings are packed with care and sent via royal mail tracked 48hrs, so you get notifications and are kept up to date until it reaches your door
